Our Village’s Orchards & Gardens
Village Harvest Feed Families
Grown with Love
Our village grove nurtures a blossoming array of 32 fruit trees, with new saplings continually enriching the diversity of our orchards. Varietals currently thriving in our community grove include avocado, fig, orange, lemon, mango, grapefruit, guava, peach and papaya trees. Carefully tended by dedicated volunteers, our orchard continues maturing, evident in the increasing bounty supplied to village families each harvest season. As stewarding arborists observe the successful pollination and fruiting patterns, tailored additions are made to expand available harvests for future years. More than a community commodity, our grove symbolizes the seeds of knowledge, nourishing traditions, and unity that sustain our future generations.
What do you do?
Our village is nurtured by an abundance of homegrown produce from both communal plots and gardens. Our spacious community garden sustains a kaleidoscope of vegetables - tomatoes, spinach, squash, carrots and more. Tendrils reach up from the rich soil, harvesting hands work in rhythm, and communal bonds strengthen along the rows.
Behind each children's home, house mothers tend small vegetable and herb gardens designed to delight each child's palette and provide extra produce unavailable in wider plots. Together, these intricate garden tapestries feed our village while cultivating responsibility and pride that blooms as surely as the garden bounty itself. Whether common or household harvest, the village gardens model sustainability where necessity meets community resilience.
