Dear Friends,

We are excited to share another major milestone in the Breath of Heaven Children’s Ministries story. After much prayer and many conversations, Judy and I are delighted to announce that Micah Orloff will be coming on board as Vice President of Development and Operations.  

This new position will help us increase our capacity to accomplish God’s work, which has expanded dramatically over the last twenty years. What started in 2003 as a vision to come to the aid of vulnerable orphans in Zambia, has grown to include eight children’s homes that can accommodate 96 orphaned children, two transition homes, Breath of Heaven Academy (pre-K through 7), Breath of Heaven Worship Centre, Hope Clinic and, most recently, the new Technical Secondary School and Vocational Training College.

The addition of a Vice President of Development and Operations in the US, along with the targeted reinforcement of our on-site Zambian leadership and staff, will help strengthen our ability to effectively operate Breath of Heaven Children’s Ministries. And, we believe that Micah Orloff is the ideal person to take on this important role. Judy and I have known and mentored Micah and his wife, Alicia, for over 20 years, and many of you know them from their longstanding work with this ministry. Micah and Alicia have demonstrated a deep commitment to Breath of Heaven, having led or been a part of multiple short-term mission teams to the Village over the past 17 years. In addition to his love for the work of this ministry and his strong personal faith, Micah brings a wealth of leadership experience and skill from his work in California Public Higher Education, where he has served over 25 years in various areas including career education, information technology, and professional development. He currently serves as Dean of Technology Resources and Support Services at Mt. San Jacinto College. He also brings experience shepherding the spiritual growth of youth, having spent 10 years as a Youth Pastor/leader for Elevation Church in Menifee, CA. 

Micah will join the team in January, starting with a trip to Zambia to formally meet the leadership team there. We look forward to continuing our mentoring relationship as he assumes this new role.
